According to the FDA, Meijer and Eagle Produce has recalled certain Whole Cantaloupe and Select Cut Cantaloupe Fruit Trays and Bowls. The recall is part of an investigation by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and was initiated due to the potential risk of Salmonella. Consequently, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Fruit or Fruit Salad products identified above.

The multi-state recall involves Whole Cantaloupe and Select Cut Cantaloupe Fruit Trays and Bowls in various weights ranging from 6 to 40 ounces known to have been sold between September 26, 2020 and October 5, 2020 at all Meijer stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin. There have been no illnesses reported to date.

The recalled Whole Cantaloupes should have an adhesive sticker label stating “Kandy Brand from Eagle Produce, LLC”. If there is no sticker label to identify it, then the product should be considered part of the recall. In addition, Meijer may have used Cantaloupe ingredients that originated from Eagle Produce, LLC to make several types of in-store Fruit Salads and Cut Cantaloupe products, sold in bowls and trays.
