Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: ITW Australia Pty Ltd, a Silverwater, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Septone branded Orange Scrub Hand Cleaner products from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Trade Practices (Consumer Product Information Standards) (Cosmetics) Regulations 1991’ and consequential risks of chemical allergy and/or sensitivity with possible Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Hand Cleaner products are subject to this recall:

  • Septone Orange Scrub Hand Cleaner, sold, marketed and delivered from April 2013 and November 2016 as a heavy duty hand cleaner with abrasive granules

==> No barcodes, APNs, EANs, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated because the Hand Cleaner was reportedly not compliant with Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Trade Practices (Consumer Product Information Standards) (Cosmetics) Regulations 1991’ in that it did not list all ingredients on the packaging. Consequently, you should not use the recalled Hand Cleaner products identified above.

As a result of this reported defect, users of these Hand Cleaner products may be exposed to ingredients to which they are sensitive and/or allergic. Further, if a persons suffers an adverse reaction, they will not be able to check the ingredients list to identify the possible cause and seek appropriate medical treatment.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Hand Cleaner products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Disposal of this product must be in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements to protect the drinking water supply and the ecosystem.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.

Always use appropriate personal protective equipment (“PPE”) when working with dangerous chemicals, including gloves and protective eyewear.
