US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Seneca Snack Company, a Marion, New York establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Seneca branded Cinnamon Apple Chips and Clancy’s branded Cinnamon Apple Chips from the American marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Apple Chip Snack Food products are subject to this recall:

  • Seneca branded Cinnamon Apple Chips, sold nationwide in 0.7 ounce (20 gram) packages through Amazon and Gemline with a best-before date code of 26JUN2021 and a UPC of 0 18195-70140 4
  • Seneca branded Cinnamon Apple Chips, sold nationwide in 2.5 ounce (20 gram) packages through Amazon and Gemline with a best-before date code of 28JUN2021 and a UPC of 0 18195-70100 8
  • Clancy’s branded Cinnamon Apple Chips, sold in 2.5 ounce packages at Aldi Stores with best-before date codes of 26JUN2021 and 27JUN2021 and an listed UPC

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, Seneca Snack Company has recalled certain batch/lots of Seneca Cinnamon Apple Chips and Clancy’s Cinnamon Apple Chips from the American marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Apple Chip Snack Food products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Seneca Cinnamon Apple Chips and Clancy’s Cinnamon Apple Chips, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Chips to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Salmonelosis.
