UK FlagUK/London: Worthenshaws Ltd, a Harrogate, North Yorkshire establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Kirsty’s branded Classic Beef Lasagne products from the British marketplace due to undeclared Oats, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Beef Lasagne products are subject to recall:

  • Kirsty’s Classic Beef Lasagne, sold in 400 gram packages with use-by dates ranging from 0 September to 24 October 2020

==> No barcodes, EANs, DINs, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the FSA, Worthenshaws has recalled certain batch/lots of Kirsty’s Classic Beef Lasagne because it contains a statement on the label that claims the foodstuff is free from all fourteen (14) allergens. This is reportedly not accurate as the product contains Oats (that are gluten free). Oats, however, are also not emphasised on the label. This means that while these Kirsty’s Classic Beef Lasagne products are suitable for someone following a Gluten-Free diet, they are not suitable for those who have an allergy to Oats.

==> For information about Oat Allergy or Gluten Intolerance, please consult the “Allergens & Intolerances” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Kirsty’s branded Classic Beef Lasagne products and could be allergic to their Oat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
