Canada/Ottawa: Loblaws Companies Limited, a Brampton, Ontario establishment recalls certain batch/lots of Loblaws President’s Choice Blue Menu branded Artichoke & Asiago Dip from the Canadian marketplace due to undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Artichoke & Asiago Dip products are subject to this recall:

  • Loblaws President’s Choice Blue Menu branded Artichoke & Asiago Dip with a side label that states, “Tzatziki Yogurt Dip”, sold in 227 gram plastic tubs with a batch/lot of 2020 OC 31 and a UPC of 0 60383 03697 3

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled processed Artichoke & Asiago Dip products can be found on the Web site above.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, this recall was initiated due to undeclared Egg.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Loblaws President’s Choice Blue Menu branded Artichoke & Asiago Dip and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
