US FlagUS/Silver Spring: GHSW, LLC., a Houston, Texas establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Trader Joe’s branded Southwest Style Sweet Potato Sauté Bowls from the American marketplace due to undeclared Egg and Milk, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following prepared Salad Bowl products are subject to this recall:

  • Trader Joe’s branded Southwest Style Sweet Potato Sauté Bowls, sold in clear 21.5 ounce plastic bowls with a salad dressing pouch packed inside each Bowls and known to be sold in in the following US states: AR, CO, KS, LA, NM, OK, TN and TX currently limited to Salads with best-by dates of 09/23/20, 09/24/20, 09/25/20, 09/26/20 or 09/28/20.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Sweet Potato Sauté Bowls can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, DINs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated after it was discovered that the Salad Dressing packaged with this product contains Egg and Milk but was distributed in packaging that did not declare the presence of either allergen.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Trader Joe’s branded Southwest Style Sweet Potato Sauté Bowls and could be allergic to their Egg and/or Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
