UK FlagUK/London: Faughan Foods, a Meath, Republic of Ireland establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Glensallagh Roast Chicken Breast Pieces from the Northern Ireland marketplace and sold at Lidl Stores due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Chicken products are subject to recall:

  • Glensallagh Roast Chicken Breast Pieces – Family pack, sold in 240 gram packages with a batch/lot code of P3527 and a best-before date of 13 September 2020

==> No barcodes, EANs, DINs, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Faughan Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of Glensallagh Roast Chicken Breast Pieces from the Northern Ireland marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. This product was known to have been sold in Lidl Northern Ireland stores only. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Chicken products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chicken products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Chicken to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Please note: while these food products may be close to or past their use-by dates, they may be in your freezers or storage chillers. If you purchased any of these products in September 2020, please check your refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listerosis
