Canada/Ottawa: Logo - Whole FoodsWhole Foods Market Canada, an Oakville, Ontario establishment, a Canadian subsidiary of Whole Foods Market, an Austin, Texas establishment and itself wholly owned by Seattle, Washington-based Amazon.com, recalls certain batch/lots of Whole Foods branded Pot Pies from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Pot Pie products are subject to this recall:

  • Whole Foods branded Chicken Pot Pie, sold in various weights; affected batch/lots: all best-before date codes up to and including 2020.AU26 where Milk is not declared on the label with a UPC of 0283117 007999
  • Whole Foods branded Turkey Pot Pie, sold in various weights; affected batch/lots: all best-before date codes up to and including 2020.AU26 where Milk is not declared on the label with a UPC of 0283118 007998
  • Whole Foods branded Vegetarian Pot Pie, sold in various weights; affected batch/lots: all best-before date codes up to and including 2020.AU26 where Milk is not declared on the label with a UPC of 0283119 007997.

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Whole Foods Market Canada has recalled certain batch/lots of Whole Foods branded Pot Pies from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected undeclared Milk. The recalled food products were known to have been marketed, sold and distributed in the Canadian province of British Columbia.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Whole Foods Pot Pies and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
