Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Magnetic Block Toys are subject to this recall:

  • Creative Adult Educational Decompression Toy Magnetic Cube Magnetic Ball Mixcolour Magnetic Toys, sold in both 4 mm and 5 mm magnetic cube brick sizes

==> No barcodes, APNs, EANs, UPCs, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Magnetic Cube Toys can be found on the Web site above.

According to the ACCC, these products contain small, high-powered Magnets. As such, the product exceeds the maximum allowable magnetic flux index set by the permanent ban on certain small, high powered magnets, prescribed in Australia’s Consumer Protection Notice No 5 of 2012 ‘Imposition of permanent ban on small, high powered magnets’.

If a child swallows more than one small high powered Magnet, components of these Toys can stick together across the walls of the child’s intestine or other digestive tissue, which can lead to internal injuries and even death. These Magnets may need emergency surgical intervention to remove. Further, the magnets may pose a choking hazard to young children due to small parts.

These products were known to be sold at http://www.kogan.com/au/wjs/ and http://www.dicksmith.com.au/da/wjs/ from 4 February 2020 to 31 July 2020.
