US FlagUS/Washington: Cher-Make Sausage Company, a Manitowoc, Wisconsin establishment, recalls an estimated 429 pounds of Fully Cooked Old Fashioned Wieners from the American marketplace due to undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following processed Meat Sausage Wieners are subject to this recall:

  • Cher-Make Sausage Company Old Fashioned Wieners – Course Ground Fully Cooked, sold in clear 5-pound vacuum sealed plastic packages with a sell-by date of “11/26/20” and batch/lot number of “2020503” on the product label.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, DINs, item numbers, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the processed meat products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 2420” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were known to have been shipped to retail locations in Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin and may have been sold intact or from counter displays as individual Sausage Wieners.

The problem was reportedly discovered after the firm received a complaint from a store employee who observed Cheese in the product. Cheese is a Milk derivative.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Cher-Make Sausage Company Old Fashioned Wiener products and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.
