US FlagUS/Washington: Communicorp Inc., a Columbus, Georgia establishment, recalls an estimated 635,500 Aflac branded Doctor Duck Plush Toys from the American marketplace due to suspected levels of Lead in excess of the allowable limits with consequential risks of lead poisoning, developmental and reproductive damage, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves the six inch tall Aflac promotional Doctor Duck Plush Toys, as follows:

  • Aflac’s “Doctor Duck” Toy is white with a yellow beak and feet and dressed in a white lab coat with buttons and a stethoscope. The brand, “Aflac” can be found printed on the front of the Duck’s lab coat. The Plush Duck Toys were distributed by Aflac to consumers as a promotional item.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled products can be found on the Web site listed above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the Buttons on the Lab Coat worn by the Doctor Duck contain levels of Lead that exceed the federal lead content standard. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health issues may pose a risk to the health of people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended use.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Aflac Doctor Duck Plush Toys, please do not use them. Instead, dispose of the recalled Doctor Duck Plush Toys. Communicorp is also contacting Aflac employees and licensed agents who purchased the Doctor Duck directly or who may have them at home or at work.
