US NHTSA Recalls: Mercedes-Benz GLB250 Vehicles

Among the forty-four (44) recalls the NHTSA announced this month comes news of the following:

Logo - Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC.Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (“MBUSA”), a Sandy Springs, Georgia establishment and subsidiary of Daimler AG of of Stuttgart, Germany, has recalled an estimated 10,644 model year 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB250 vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Structure – Rear Spoiler may detach

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V480000 reports the Rear Spoiler above the tailgate may not have been welded correctly. This could result in parts of the Spoiler detaching from the vehicle.

According to the NHTSA, if the Spoiler detaches while driving, it can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.

MBUSA will notify registered owners, and dealers will inspect the Rear Spoiler and replace it, if necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin October 13, 2020. Owners may contact MBUSA Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-367-6372 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). No manufacturer’s designation was listed for this recall at press time.
