US FlagUS/Silver Spring: ALDI USA, a Batavia, Illinois, establishment and a subsidiary of ALDI Stores of Germany, recalls certain batch/lots of Fresh Organic and Commercial Peaches from the American marketplace due to suspected risk of Salmonella Enteritidis contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Fresh Peaches are subject to this recall:

  • Wawona branded Peaches, sold in 2 pound bags and a UPC of 033383322001 and distributed in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin and West Virginia. The items were also available for purchase through the company’s partnership with Instacart, a grocery delivery service.
  • Loose Bulk Peaches sold bulk loose, with no UPC and distributed in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Wisconsin and West Virginia
  • Peaches Organic, sold in 2 pound bags and a UPC of 849315000400 and distributed in Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Wisconsin and West Virginia

==> No best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, ALDI has recalled assorted Fresh Peaches received from its supplier, Wawona Packing Company, due to possible Salmonella contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Peaches identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Fresh Peaches, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Peaches to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Please note: while these food products may be close to or past their use-by dates, they may be in your freezers or storage chillers. If you have purchased these products since July 1, 2020, please check your refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.
