B-Air and BlueDri branded Blower Fans Recall [US & Canada]

US FlagCanada FlagUS/Washington & Canada/Ottawa: Intertex LLC, an Azusa, California establishment, recalls an estimated total 197,153 of B-Air, BlueDri and Soleaire branded Blower Fans (approximately 189,000 in the US and approximately 8,153 in Canada) from the American and Canadian marketplaces due to the reported failure to provide the supplemental outlet-equipped Blower Fans with a protective in-device circuit breaker as required by the appropriate jurisdictional regulatory standards with consequential risks of fire, burns, smoke inhalation and property damage, all serious safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves several models of Centrifugal and Axial Blower Fans sold under the B-Air, BlueDri, BlueDri Pro and Soleaire brands.

Each of the recalled Blower has convenience outlets on the side of the unit to allow other Blower to be “daisy chained” (several Blowers plugged together in series) or other devices such as lamps, power drills or other electrical items to be powered. These Blower Fans were sold in a variety of models and color with individual model numbers located on the rear of each Blower Fans, as follows:

  • B-Air branded FX-1 Compact Air Mover 1/4 HP Blowers
  • B-Air branded GP-33 Air Mover 1/3 HP Blowers
  • B-Air branded PB-25 Axial Air Mover 1/4 HP Blowers
  • B-Air branded VP-33 Air Mover 1/3 HP Blowers
  • BlueDri branded BD-ONE-29 Air Mover 1/3 HP Blowers
  • BlueDri Pro branded BD AXIAL-25 Axial Air Mover 1/4 HP Blowers
  • BlueDri Pro branded BDPRO-33 Air Mover 1/3 HP Blowers
  • Soleaire branded Jetster Air Mover 1/3 HP Blowers

==> No barcodes, UPCs, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the supplemental electrical outlets on the side of the Blower Fans are not protected by a circuit breaker. If the outlet becomes overloaded or is short-circuited, it could overheat, posing a fire hazard.
