US FlagUS/Washington: Faribault Foods Inc., a Faribault, Minnesota establishment, recalls an estimated 15,134 pounds of canned Progresso Organic Chicken Noodle Soup products from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling/mispackaging with consequential risk of undeclared Milk and Soy, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

As well, the recalled Progresso Soups have undeclared Beef and Pork, two ingredients that people may wish to avoid for dietary, religious and/or health reasons.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Soup products are subject to this recall:

  • Progresso Organic Chicken Noodle Soup, sold in 14-ounce cans with a best-by code of “BestByMAY262022” printed on the bottom of the can and a best-by date of “9JUN2022” printed on the product case packaging (typically removed at retail) and a UPC of 0-41196-49233-0

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, Faribault Foods has recalled an estimated 15,134 pounds of canned Progresso Organic Chicken Noodle Soup products from the American marketplace due to undeclared Milk and Soy. As well, the recalled Progresso Soups have undeclared Beef and Pork.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST18826A” printed on the bottom of the can under the best by date. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered when the firm’s distributor notified FSIS of consumer complaints that the soup contained meatballs and pasta instead of chicken and noodles.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Chicken Noodle Soup products products and could be allergic to their Milk Allergy or Lactose Intolerance ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
