Among the twenty-one (21) recalls the European Union has announced in its second report of August 2020, the following recall notification was made:

Thule branded Sleek Baby Pushchair Stroller Recall [EU]

Thule branded Sleek Baby Pushchair Strollers, sold with model designation number of 110000017/20/3-1733 (pictured, at left).

These Thule branded Sleek Baby Pushchair Strollers are four-wheeled Baby Strollers designed to carry one (1) child while fastened within the Stroller. The recalled Strollers feature a large, reclining seat and the ventilated canopy with extendable sun visor to protect the child from rain or sun.

The recalled Strollers fold for storage or travel and are in available in a variety of single and two-tone color schemes. The Strollers can be used from the child’s birth with the Thule Sleek Bassinet or infant car seat adapter (neither optional accessory is included in this recall notification).

No barcodes, UPCs, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designations, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The type of hazards presented in these recalled Thule branded Sleek Baby Pushchair Strollers include the reported finding that two screws are missing from the control handlebar.

As a direct consequence of this reported defect, the handlebar may easily detach and the Pushchair Stroller may tip over when being operated in a reasonable manner expected with its intended use. If this defect occurs, it could lead to laceration, bone fracture, concussion, brain damage of the child riding in the Stroller

Due to these defects and their associated risks, these Thule branded Sleek Baby Pushchair Strollers do not comply with the requirements of the applicable European standard EN 1888.

Consequently, a recall of these Thule Strollers and a withdrawal of the products from the European marketplace and recall from end users has been ordered.
