UK FlagUK/London: Waitrose & Partners, a London, England establishment and a subsidiary of the John Lewis Partnership of Bracknell, Berkshire recalls certain batch/lots of Waitrose & Partners Chicken Satay with Sweet Chilli Sauce from the British marketplace due to suspected mispackaging and consequential undeclared Fish and Nuts, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following prepared Chicken Satay Meals are subject to recall:

  • Waitrose & Partners Chicken Satay with Sweet Chilli Sauce, sold in 85 gram packages with a use-by date of 17 August 2020

==> No barcodes, EANs, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the FSA, Waitrose & Partners has recalled Waitrose & Partners branded Chicken Satay with Sweet Chilli Sauce due to the suspicion that the incorrect Sauce has been packed in the product. This means the Meals are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to Fish and/or Peanuts.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Chicken Satay Meals with Sweet Chilli Sauce and could be allergic to their FOOD ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Waitrose & Partners branded Chicken Satay with Sweet Chilli Sauce Meals, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Chicken Satay Meals to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Please note: while these food products may be close to or past their use-by dates, they may be in your freezers or storage chillers. If you have purchased these products since July 1, 2020, please check your refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.
