Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Kmart Australia Ltd, a Mulgrave, Melbourne establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Girls Organic Roll Waist Leggings from the Australian marketplace due to suspected component detachment and consequential risks of choking, suffocation, ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health hazards.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Children’s Clothing products are subject to this recall:

  • Baby Girls Organic 2-pack Leggings with Roll Waist, sold with a style number of 147535 in children’s sizes ranging from 00000 to 2 years and Kmart keycodes 69884351, 69884368, 69884375, 69884382, 69884399, 69884405 or 69884412

==> No barcodes, APNs, EANs, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, the recalled Girls Waist Leggings have decorative buttons that may become detached if pulled. If this defect occurs and the buttons do detach, they pose choking and suffocation hazard if ingested by young children.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Girls Organic Roll Waist Leggings, please do not use them nor dress your child in them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
