Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Silicone Teether products for Children are subject to this recall:

  • Anko Silicone Teether Elephant Children’s Toys, made from wood and silicone and sold in pink and blue colours with a Kmart keycode of 42888628 and an APN of 9341107329849

==> No best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, the recalled Children’s Teethers have white ear inserts that can separate from the main ear component. If this defect does occur and the white ear inserts do indeed detach from the Teether, they may become lodged in an infant’s throat and pose a choking or suffocation hazard. They can also be ingested with serious consequences for oral injury as well as GI tract laceration.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Children’s Teethers, please do not use them for your child nor place the Teether products near or in a location they can access. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat choking and/or oral injury.
