Among the fifty-five (55) recalls the NHTSA has announced this July comes news of the following:

Logo - Daimler Trucks North America LLCDaimler Trucks North America LLC (“DTNA”), a Portland, Oregon establishment and a subsidiary of Daimler AG of Stuttgart, Germany, has recalled an estimated 12,038 model year 2018 Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (“FCCC”) XBP, 2016-2019 XCM, 2017-2020 XCS, 2018-2019 XBR, 2017-2019 XBS, 2016-2019 XCL, 2017-2020 XCP and 2016-2020 XCR Recreation Vehicle Chassis marketed, sold and delivered in the United States and that received the “inspection-only” remedy from recall 18V-582.

Recall Category: Electrical System, Exterior Lighting – Damaged Circuit Board may affect vehicle’s exterior lighting

Logo - FreightlinerNHTSA Safety Notification 20V404000 reports that the rear mounted Power Distribution Module (“PDM”) may have been damaged during manufacturing, possibly resulting in the rear marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals not functioning.

According to the NHTSA, non-functioning Exterior Marker Lights can increase the risk of a crash.

DTNA will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the Power Distribution Module, free of charge. This recall is expected to begin September 10, 2020. Owners may contact DTNA Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-547-0712 normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time (“PST”). DTNA’s designation for this recall is FL-856.
