Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Drugs are subject to this recall:

  • Taro-Dermovate Cream, sold with a DIN of 02213265, a batch/lot of AB40179 and an active ingredient strength of Clobetasol Propionate, 0.05%
  • Taro-Clobetasol Cream USP 0.05%, sold with a DIN of 02245523, batch/lot of AB28534 and AB27927 and an active ingredient strength of Clobetasol Propionate, 0.05%

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to Health Canada, Taro Pharmaceuticals recalls certain batch/lots of Dermovate Cream and Taro-Clobetasol Cream USP from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected product mixing irregularities producing a medication that may pose a risk to the health of people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended use.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Clobetasol Propionate, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store, distributor or pharmacist where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> You should not stop taking your Metformin medication without first discussing options with your physician or other qualified health care provider.

Disposal of this product must be in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements to protect your personal safety, the local drinking water supply and the ecosystem. Please consult your pharmacist, distributor or local municipal waste authority for the correct steps for your particular community.
