Among the thirty-five (35) recalls the NHTSA announced this July comes news of the following:

Logo - TennecoTenneco (formerly Tenneco Automotive and originally Tennessee Gas Transmission Company), a Lake Forest, Illinois establishment, has recalled an estimated 826 model year Clevite-Pullman Rear Suspension Lower Control Rods/Torque Rods, part number FS32B916400AFH, for installation into Gillig Low Floor Buses marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Suspension – Rear Suspension Lower Control Rod failure

NHTSA Safety Notification 20E044000 reports the design of the Rear Suspension Lower Control Rods makes them susceptible to failure over time.

According to the NHTSA, if a rear suspension lower control rod fails, the bus may have reduced handling and stability, increasing the risk of a crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.

Tenneco will notify customers who purchased this product as replacement equipment and will provide a new Control Rod, free of charge. Owners may contact Tenneco Customer Service toll-free at 1-260-667-2308 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). No manufacturer’s designation was listed for this recall at press time.
