Among the thirty-three (33) recalls the NHTSA announced this July comes news of the following:

Logo - Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (“Volkswagen”), a Herndon, Virginia establishment and subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group of Wolfsburg, Germany, has recalled an estimated 12,964 model year 2013-2018 Audi S8 and Audi A8 vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Structure – Engine Compartment Seal may detach

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V397000 reports the Seal around the Engine Compartment may come loose and contact hot engine components.

Logo - AudiAccording to the NHTSA, if the seal contacts hot engine components, there could be an increased risk of a fire, burns, crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.

Audi will notify registered owners, and dealers will install a retaining plate to prevent the Engine Compartment Seal from loosening. The recall is expected to begin September 4, 2020. Owners may contact Audi Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-253-2834 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). Volkswagen’s designation for this recall is 51G6.
