Logo - Airstream, Inc.Airstream, Inc. (“Airstream”), a Jackson Center, Ohio establishment and subsidiary of Thor Industries of Elkhart, Indiana, has recalled an estimated 732 model year 2017-2018 Basecamp Travel Trailers marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Visibility – Frameless Entry Door Window Glass Panel may detach

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V349000 reports the adhesive bond between the glass and the metal frame of the entry door window may fail, allowing the glass to separate while the trailer is moving.

According to the NHTSA, if the window glass detaches while the vehicle is moving it could become a projectile, increasing the risk of injury or a crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.

Airstream will notify registered owners, and dealers will inspect the windows for proper adhesive bond strength, replacing the windows as necessary and installing updated adhesive strips to all windows, free of charge. This recall is expected to begin August 11, 2020.
