Bravo branded Tlakový Hrnec Pressure Cookers, sold with a model number of B-4569 De Luxe, a production date of 05/2018 and a barcode/EAN/UPC of 8 595022 045693.

These products are marketed as small countertop plug-in kitchen appliances used to cook, stew and/or simmer foodstuffs for meal preparation. By using a combination of high heat and controlled pressurization, the foodstuffs cook faster than with the traditional stove-top method. Each of the Bravo branded Tlakový Hrnec Pressure Cookers is produced in a smooth polished nickel-like outer coating with black plastic handles and trim.

No batch/lot designations, best-before date codes, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other codes were listed with this recall.

The type of hazards presented in these recalled Bravo branded Tlakový Hrnec Pressure Cookers include the reported finding that the required safety and decompression devices are inappropriate and/or inadequate for safely controlling the Cooker when operating the device in a reasonable manner expected with its intended use.

Specifically, the recall notification reports that the Cookers are designed in a manner in which the Lid might be opened while the product is still under increased atmospheric pressure. If this defect occurs and the Lid is released prematurely, it could cause hot solid foods to be ejected at speed towards the cook or those nearby, producing serious and/or life-changing burns to the face, arms, hands, eyes and/or other areas.

In addition, expelled hot liquid and/or steam may be expelled at speed and cause severe burn damage, eye injury, laceration and/or concussion. If inhaled in sufficient quantities, the steam and other super heated gases could cause lung damage, infection and/or choking, all emergency conditions, possibly requiring medical and/or surgical intervention.

Due to these defects and their associated risks, these Bravo branded Tlakový Hrnec Pressure Cooker products do not comply with the requirements of the applicable European Pressure Equipment Directive and the relevant European standard EN 12778.

Consequently, a recall of these Bravo branded Tlakový Hrnec Pressure Cooker products and a withdrawal of the products from the European marketplace [and recall from end users} has been ordered.
