Logo - American Pacific IndustriesAmerican Pacific Industries, Inc. (“American Pacific”), a Scottsdale, Arizona establishment has recalled an estimated 1,226 model year Gladiator X-Comp A/T Tires, size LT285/75R16, Load Range E and with DOT date codes 0718 to 0420 marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Tires – Sidewall separation FMVSS 139

NHTSA Safety Notification 20T011000 reports that endurance testing has found the Sidewall may separate from the Tire body. As such, these Tires fail to comply with the requirements of the US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 139, “New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles”.

According to the NHTSA, Sidewall separation can lead to Tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.

American Pacific will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the Tires, free of charge. The recall began June 30, 2020. Owners may contact American Pacific Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-944-8414 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time (“PST”).
