According to the FDA, Walmart has withdrawn the above recalled batch/lots of Marketside branded Classic Iceberg Salads from the American marketplace due to suspected Cyclospora cayetanensisa contamination. This recall was reportedly made in cooperation with Fresh Express, a company whose bagged Salad products have been linked to an outbreak of Cyclospora infections in the US Midwest.

The recalled Iceberg Salads are known to have been sold at Walmart stores between June 1, 2020 and June 21, 2020 in Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Cyclospora infects the small intestine and usually causes watery diarrhea (sometimes, explosive diarrhea) with frequent bowel movements. Other symptoms include loss of appetite, weight loss, bloating, increased gas, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, muscle aches, and low-grade fever. Serious cases of Cyclospora infection are treated with antibiotics prescribed by a licensed physician.
