Recall Category: Service Brakes, Hydraulic – Insufficiently crimped Brake Master Cylinder

Logo - AC DelcoNHTSA Safety Notification 20E042000 reports that due to insufficient crimping of the aluminum housing, the recalled Master Cylinder Pistons may not be properly secured, causing a loss of braking ability and allowing brake fluid to leak into the vacuum booster.

According to the NHTSA, if the Piston pops out of the Master Cylinder Housing, a change in brake pedal travel and feel may result, including increased pedal effort and reduced brake function, increasing the risk of a crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.
