Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Bonnsu LLC, a Sausalito, California establishment doing business as Miniware, recalls an estimated 204 Miniware branded Baby Teething Spoons from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected structural failure and component detachment with consequential risks of choking, ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious safety hazards.

Health Canada reports the recalled Miniware branded Baby Teething Spoons are made from food-grade silicone designed for infants to use during the teething phase, approximately 4 to 24 months of age, as follows:

  • The recalled Teething Spoons were sold in a set of two (2) and came in grey, aqua, peach, key lime (green), cotton candy (pink) and lavender colors. The brand, “Miniware can be found stamped in raised letters on the handle of the Teething Spoons.
  • The Teething Spoons were also sold in three (3) Meal Kit Configurations, as follows:
    • The Kits named, “First Bites” included spoons, bowl, suction foot and a lid. The colors of the Baby Teething Spoons that came in these Kits were molded in key lime, aqua, cotton candy, lavender, grey and peach colors.
    • The Kits named, “First Bites Travel Kit” included a spoon, bowl, suction foot and travel bag. The Teething Spoons in these Kits were molded in lavender and aqua colors.
    • The Kits named, “Sip and Snack” included a spoon, bowl, suction foot and a drinking cup. The Teething Spoons in these Kits were molded in peach and grey colors.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to Health Canada, the Teething Spoons included in this recall notification can break in a child’s mouth when being used as a teether, posing risks of choking, ingestion and GI tract laceration damage to infants.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Miniware branded Baby Teething Spoons, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
