Additional information:

Among the seventy three (73) recalls the NHTSA announced this June comes news of the following:

Logo - Lippert ComponentsLippert Components, Inc. (“LCI”), an East Elkhart, Indiana establishment, has recalled an estimated 15,758 Series 3000 Frameless Windows sold for installation into Recreational Vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Visibility – Frameless Window Glass may detach

NHTSA Safety Notification 20E039000 reports the adhesive bond between the glass and the metal hinge frame of the Frameless Crank Out Vent Windows may fail which could then allow the glass to detach and fall out.

According to the NHTSA, if the Vent Window glass detaches while the Recreational Vehicle is moving it could become a projectile, increasing the risk of injury or a crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.

LCI will notify the affected RV manufacturers whose dealers will inspect the Frameless Windows for proper adhesive bond strength, replacing the Vent Windows as necessary, free of charge. LCI did not provide a manufacturer notification schedule with this recall notification. RV owners may contact LCI Customer Service at 1-574-537-8900 or by e-mail at customerservice@lci1.com. LCI’s designation for this recall is 228-01-2020.
