Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Becca Cosmetics, a New York, New York establishment, and American subsidiary of Becca Cosmetics, of Perth, Australia and part of the Estée Lauder Group of companies recalls certain batch/lots of Becca Cosmetics branded Light Shifter Brightening Concealer products from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Mould contamination and consequential risks of skin irritation, allergy, Keratitis, Endophthalmitis and/or possible life-changing complications including eye damage and/or blindness, all serious health and safety hazards.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Concealer products are subject to this recall:

  • Becca Cosmetics branded Light Shifter Brightening Concealers, sold in 3.2 mL tubes of Concealer as an applicator wand with silver overlay and a white secondary carton with batch/lot designations of 0030A, 9308A, 0052A, 0052C, 9291A, 9309A, 0036A, 0037A, 0038A, 0038B, 0041A, 9289A, 0062A, 0062B, 0062C, 9283A, 9284A, 9287A or 9288A and UPCs of 9331137030037, 9331137030044, 9331137030051, 9331137030068, 9331137030075, 9331137030099, 9331137030082 or 9331137030105

According to Health Canada, Becca Cosmetics has recalled all shades of its Light Shifter Brightening Concealer because a brownish-black material identified as a common household mould was found on the sponge-tip applicator of some tubes of Concealer. You should neither use the recalled Cosmetics identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm mold contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any Make-Up product, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect cosmetics.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Becca Cosmetics branded Light Shifter Brightening Concealers, please do not use them. Instead, return the Concealers to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat mould contamination.
