Among the sixty eight (68) recalls the NHTSA announced this June comes news of the following:

Logo - BMW of North AmericaBMW of North America, LLC (“BMW”), a Greer, South Carolina establishment and a subsidiary of Bayerische Motoren Werke AG of Munich, Germany, has recalled an estimated 2,779 model year 2019 BMW Z4 sDrive30i, 2019-2020 BMW 330i xDrive, BMW M340i and BMW M340i xDrive, 2020 BMW X3M and BMW X4M, and Toyota Supra vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Steering – Steering Gear Tie Rods may become damaged

Logo - Toyota Motor Engineering & ManufacturingNHTSA Safety Notification 20V355000 reports in certain driving conditions, such as high temperatures and/or rough road surfaces, a Steering Gear Tie Rod may become damaged, possibly resulting in a fractured Tie Rod.

According to the NHTSA, a damaged or fractured Tie Rod may affect vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.

BMW and Toyota will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the Steering Gear Tie Rods, free of charge. This recall is expected to begin August 7, 2020. Owners may contact BMW Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-525-7417 or Toyota Customer Service toll-free at 1-888-270-9371. No manufacturer’s designation was listed for this recall at press time.
