US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Flagstone Foods LLC, a Robersonville, North Carolina establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of North Star branded Sweet & Salty Caramel Trail Mix products from the American marketplace due to undeclared Cashew Nuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Trail Mix products are subject to this recall:

  • North Star branded Sweet & Salty Caramel Trail Mix products, sold in 14-ounce, plastic stand-up resealable packages with a batch/lot code of 05M04210, an expiration date of 04/22/2021 and a UPC 0-80948-63064-4

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated after it was discovered that the North Star branded Sweet & Salty Caramel Trail Mix products were marketed, sold and distributed in packaging that does not disclose the presence of Cashew nuts.

Flagstone Foods reports the recalled North Star Sweet & Salty Caramel Trail Mix packages were distributed US nationwide in retail military exchanges.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled North Star Sweet & Salty Caramel Trail Mix packages and could be allergic to their Cashew Nut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
