The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Pork products are subject to recall:

  • Co-op 2 Herby Pork Loin Medallions, sold in foil tray packages with a total precooked weight of 305 grams with a use-by date of 28 June 2020

According to the FSA, Co-op has recalled its Herby Pork Loin Medallions because it contains Soya, an ingredient not declared on the product label. Upon investigation, it was found that Asian Style Pork Belly Slices have been incorrectly labelled as Pork Loin Medallions. This means an incorrect nutrition statement and ingredient labelling statement may be associated with this food product at retail. Consequently, the Herby Pork Loin Medallions are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to Soya.

==> For information about Soya Allergy, please consult the “Allergens & Intolerances” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Co-op Herby Pork Loin Medallions and could be allergic to their Soya ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Please note: while these food products may be close to or past their use-by dates, they may be in your freezers or storage chillers. If you have purchased these products within the use-by range, please check your refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
