Canada/Ottawa: Les Aliments Johnvince, a Boucherville, Quebec establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Sweetened Dried Cranberries from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Escherichia Coli (E. Coli) contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Dried Cranberry products are subject to this recall:

  • Sweetened Dried Cranberries, sold in variable weights in clear plastic bags of approximately 300 grams with a PLU 5176, product codes of 06472, 06481 or 0648. Please note this packaged product may have been sold with or without codes from May 28, 2020 up to and including June 8, 2020. If you are unsure if they have purchased the affected product are advised to contact you retailer.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Les Aliments Johnvince has recalled certain batch/lots of Sweetened Dried Cranberries from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Escherichia Coli (E. Coli) contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Cranberries identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Dried Cranberries, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Escherichia Coli.
