Canada/Ottawa: Décathlon Canada Inc., a Brossard, Quebec establishment, recalls an estimated 6,267 Domyos branded Pilates Exercise Balls from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected structural collapse and sudden breakage with consequential risks of falls, laceration, bone fracture and concussion, all serious health and safety hazards.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves Domyos Swiss Ball Stable and Swiss Ball Basic Pilates Balls, with or without handles and elastic straps, in various colours. The Domyos logo is inscribed on the ball, as follows:

  • Swiss Ball Basic Pilates Balls, sold with model numbers of 8381486, 8381579 and 8381488
  • Swiss Ball Blue Pilates Balls, sold with a model number of 8529177
  • Swiss Ball with Elastic Straps Pilates Balls with handles, sold with a model number of 8529178
  • Swiss Ball Stable Pilates Balls, sold with model numbers of 8490409, 8490410 and 8490411
  • Swiss Ball Stable Grey Pilates Balls, sold with a model number of 8529176

According to Health Canada, the recalled Pilates Balls can suddenly burst, posing fall and injury hazards to the people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with their intended use.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Pilates Balls, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Decathlon (in store or by telephone) to receive a copy of the updated instructions for use.
