According to the FDA, Konjac Powder Jelly Cups are not permitted for entry into the United States to their risks. Konjac does not dissolve easily when eaten: if a Jelly lodges in a person’s throat, especially a child’s, it can act as a “plug” that can restrict or completely cut off air supply. Currently, the products fall under FDA Import Alert #35-15 due to these risks.

The recalled Xi Zhi Liang Fruit Jelly Cups were reportedly distributed US nationwide in retail food stores and come in pink, yellow, and blue colored plastic backpacks, with numerous individual Plastic Jelly Cups inside each back pack. There is also a Toy Car in a pouch on the front of the plastic backpack. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Xi Zhi Liang Fruit Jelly Cups identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Xi Zhi Liang Fruit Jelly Cups, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation.
