Among the thirty two (32) recalls the NHTSA announced this June comes news of the following:

Logo - Daimler Vans USADaimler Vans USA, LLC (“DVUSA”), a Centennial, Colorado establishment and a subsidiary of Daimler AG of Stuttgart, Germany, has recalled an estimated 11,013 model year 2019 Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter Vans (platform 970 (VS30)), equipped with swivel seats marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Electrical System, Air Bags, Seats – Front Seat Wiring Harnesses routed incorrectly

Logo - Mercedes-BenzNHTSA Safety Notification 20V322000 reports that the Wiring Harnesses for the front seats may have been routed incorrectly and could become jammed and damaged in the swivel seat frames.

According to the NHTSA, if the Wiring Harness is damaged, the Side Air Bag within the seat may deploy inadvertently or not deploy as designed in the event of a crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential increased risks of injury and/or life-changing results.

Logo - FreightlinerDVUSA will notify registered owners, and an authorized Mercedes-Benz or Freightliner Sprinter dealer will inspect the Wiring Harness routing for both front seats and will repair the wiring and add clips or cable ties as needed, free of charge. This recall is expected to begin July 17, 2020. Owners may contact DVUSA Customer Service toll-free at 1-877-762-8267 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Mountain Standard Time (“MST”). DVUSA’s designation for this recall is VS3DREHSIK.
