Yamabond Chemical & Adhesive Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd., a Toronto, Ontario establishment, recalls an estimated 9,069 Yamabond branded Chemical and Adhesive Products from the Canadian marketplace due to failure to meet Canadian bilingual labelling and hazard information regulations and consequential risks of poisoning, inhalation, fire, burns, ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Chemical and Adhesive products are subject to this recall:

  • Yamabond 4 Marine Adhesive, sold in 102 gram (3 ounce) tubes with a Yamaha part number of ACC-BOND4-MA-00
  • Yamabond 4 Motorsport Adhesive, sold in 125 gram (2.9 ounce) tubes with a Yamaha part number of ACC-BOND4-MC-00
  • Yamabond 5 Adhesive, sold in 71 gram (2.5 ounce) tubes with a Yamaha part number of ACC-YAMAB-ON-D5
  • Yamabond 6B Adhesive, sold in 100 gram (3.5 ounce) tubes with a Yamaha part number of ACC-YAMAB-ND-6B
  • Yamabond 7 Adhesive, sold in 10 gram (0.35 ounce) tubes with a Yamaha part number of ACC-YAMAB-ON-D7
  • Yamabond 1386 Adhesive, sold in 10 mL tubes with a Yamaha part number of ACC-YAMBD-13-86

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to Health Canada, the recalled Yamabond branded Chemical and Adhesive products do not meet the labelling requirements for consumer chemical products required by Canada’s Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001, under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.

The Yamabond 5 and Yamabond 7 Yamabond branded Chemical and Adhesive Products pose a risk of flammability while the Yamabond 6B product is reportedly combustible. The lack of appropriate labelling information could result in unintentional exposure to the product and lead to serious illness or injury.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Yamabond branded Chemical and Adhesive products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Disposal of this product must be in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements to protect your personal safety, the local drinking water supply and the ecosystem. Please consult your local municipal waste authority for the correct steps for your particular community.
