Among the fifty five (55) recalls the European Union has announced in its fifth (and final) report of May 2020, the following recall notification was made:

13084 - 13084 - EU RECALL - BeSafe iZi Go X1 Children's Car Seat Recall [EU]

BeSafe branded iZi Go X1 Children’s Car Seats, sold with a model number of E4*44R04/16*4006, production dates ranging from October 2017 to January 2020 and serial numbers ranging from ZG0247548 to ZG(0)270529

The products are marketed as children’s car seats and devices that can secure a baby or small infant for travel in a motor vehicle. The recalled iZi Go X1 Children’s Car Seats are specifically designed to mate with an ISOFIX black plastic base that were produced, marketed and sold by the same company.

No manufacturing date codes, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other codes were listed with this recall.

The type of hazards presented in these recalled BeSafe branded iZi Go X1 Children’s Car Seats include the reported finding that locking mechanism that attaches the Car Sear to the ISOFIX base can become lose and fail under forces created in the event of an accident, crash or MVA.

Specifically, if this defect occurs and the Car Seat comes loose during a crash or MVA, the device may fail to protect the child and allow serious injury when operating the device in a reasonable manner expected with its intended use.

Due to these defects and their associated risks, these BeSafe branded iZi Go X1 Children’s Car Seats do not comply with the requirements of the applicable European Safety Directives and the relevant Regulation UN/ECE No 44-04.

Consequently, a recall of these BeSafe branded iZi Go X1 Children’s Car Seats and a withdrawal of the product from the European marketplace and recall from end users has been ordered.
