Canada/Ottawa: Joe’s Gluten-Free Foods, a Regina, Saskatchewan establishment, updates its existing recall for certain batch/lots of Joe’s Gluten-Free Foods branded Potato & Onion Perogies from the Canadian marketplace  to include additional batch/lots known to have been marketed, sold and distributed.

The original recall was initiated due to undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Potato & Onion Perogies are subject to this recall:

  • Joe’s Gluten-Free Foods branded Potato & Onion Perogies, sold in 360 gram white plastic pouches with brown trim, affected best-before date codes: all best-before date codes up to and including 2021OC20 where Milk is not declared on the product label and a UPC of 6 28451 40002 8

According to the CFIA, Joe’s Gluten-Free Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of Joe’s Gluten-Free Foods branded Potato & Onion Perogies from the Canadian marketplace due to undeclared Milk.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Joe’s Gluten-Free Foods branded Potato & Onion Perogies and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
