Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Fresh Fodder Pty Ltd, an Orange, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Fresh Fodder branded Babaganoush Cooked Eggplant products from the Australian marketplace due to undeclared Sesame, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Babaganoush products are subject to this recall:

  • Fresh Fodder branded Babaganoush, sold with a batch/lot 17041704, a use-by date of 20 July 2020 and an APN/EAN of 9345205000334

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to the presence of undeclared Sesame.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Fresh Fodder branded Babaganoush products and could be allergic to their Sesame ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
