US NHTSA Recalls: Porsche Cayenne Vehicles

Among the thirty seven (37) recalls the NHTSA announced this May comes news of the following:

Logo - Porsche Cars North America, IncPorsche Cars North America, Inc. (“Porsche”), a division of Porsche AG, a Stuttgart, Germany establishment and division of the Volkswagen Group has recalled an estimated 2,178 model year 2019-2020 Cayenne and 2020 Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S Hybrid vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Fuel System, Gasoline – Fuel Line Quick Connector may leak

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V255000 reports the fuel line quick connector located in the engine compartment of the recalled vehicles may leak.

According to the NHTSA, a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire, burns, crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.

Porsche will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the fuel line and quick connector, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 10, 2020. Owners may contact Porsche Customer Service toll-free 1-800-767-7243 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). Porsche’s designation for this recall is ALA4.
