Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: ALDI Stores, a Prestons, New South Wales establishment and subsidiary of German food conglomerate ALDI Süd, recalls certain batch/lots of PICK’D branded Cloudy Apple Juice products from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Mycotoxin Patulin contamination and consequential risk of Mould infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Apple Juice products are subject to this recall:

  • PICK’D branded Cloudy Apple Juice, sold in 2 L plastic bottles with use-by date codes including: 22/05/2020, 29/05/2020, 17/06/2020, 7/07/2020, 15/07/2020, 27/07/2020, 30/07/2020, 7/08/2020 or 11/08/2020

==> No barcodes, APNs, UPCs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the beverage’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this recall is due to suspected Mycotoxin Patulin contamination.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled PICK’D branded Cloudy Apple Juice products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Mycotoxin Patulin poisonings.
