Canada/Ottawa: EcoPoxy Inc., a Morris, Manitoba establishment, recalls an estimated 50,000 containers of EcoPoxy Liquid Plastic 2:1 and EcoPoxy UVPoxy products from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected failure to meet Canadian labelling and child-resistant packaging requirements required by Canada’s Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act and consequential risks of poisoning, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves certain EcoPoxy Liquid Plastic 2:1 Hardener – Part B (sold separately or as part of the EcoPoxy Liquid Plastic Kit 2:1) and EcoPoxy UVPoxy Hardener – Part B (sold separately or as part of the EcoPoxy UVPoxy Kit) products, as follows:

  • EcoPoxy Liquid Plastic Kit 2:1 Hardener – Part B, sold with a product code of EPLPH10 and a UPC of 628199902266
  • EcoPoxy Liquid Plastic Kit 2:1, sold with a product code of EPLPK20 and a UPC of 628199908718
  • EcoPoxy Liquid Plastic Kit 2:1 Hardener Hardener – Part B , sold with a product code of EPUVH10 and a UPC of 628199901078
  • EcoPoxy UVPoxy Kit, sold with a product code of EPUVK20 and a UPC of 628199905854

According to Health Canada, the recalled Adhesive products do not meet the labelling and child-resistant packaging requirements for adhesives required by the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act. The lack of child-resistant packaging could result in unintentional exposure to these products and lead to serious illness, injury or death.

As of April 7, 2020, EcoPoxy has received one (1) report of incident in Canada, and no reports of injuries.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled EcoPoxy Inc branded Adhesive products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact EcoPoxy for a replacement label and child-resistant closure.

Disposal of this product must be in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements to protect your personal safety, the local drinking water supply and the ecosystem. Please consult your local municipal waste authority for the correct steps for your particular community.

Please note: the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
