Among the thirty (30) recalls the NHTSA announced this May comes news of the following:

Logo - Ford Motor CompanyFord Motor Company (“Ford”), a Dearborn, Michigan establishment, has recalled an estimated 10,460 model year 2019 Expedition and 2019-2020 Mustang vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Power Train, Electrical System – Out Of Park Warning Message and Chime Too Short

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V263000 reports the “Transmission Not In Park” warning message and associated chime duration are shorter than intended.

According to the NHTSA, if the driver exits the vehicle without the transmission being shifted into park, unintended vehicle movement may result, increasing the risk of crash, MVA or other impact event with consequential injury and/or life-changing results.

Ford will notify registered owners, and dealers will reprogram the instrument cluster, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin May 25, 2020. Owners may contact Ford Customer Service toll-free at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s designation for this recall is 20S21.
