US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Ramar Foods, a Pittsburg, California establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Peekaboo branded Mint Chocolate Chip with Hidden Spinach Ice Cream from the American marketplace due to suspected of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Ice Cream products are subject to this recall:

  • Peekaboo branded Mint Chocolate Chip with Hidden Spinach Ice Cream, sold in 14 ounce tubs with a best-before date of 10/08/2021 and a UPC of 8685400001

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Ice Cream products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FDA, Ramar Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of Peekaboo branded Mint Chocolate Chip with Hidden Spinach Ice Cream from the American marketplace due to suspected of Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The Ice Cream was known to be distributed at select Target stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Ice Cream identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Peekaboo branded Mint Chocolate Chip with Hidden Spinach Ice Cream products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Ice Cream to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
