Additional information:

Among the twenty three (23) recalls the NHTSA announced this May comes news of the following:

Logo - Daimler Trucks North America LLCDaimler Trucks North America LLC (“DTNA”), a Portland, Oregon establishment and a subsidiary of Daimler AG of Stuttgart, Germany, has recalled an estimated 7,979 model year 2010-2020 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner HDX School Buses marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Equipment, Structure – Rear Emergency Exit Window Label/FMVSS 217

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V252000 reports the lettering on the instruction label for the rear emergency exit window may be too small. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, “Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release.”

According to the NHTSA, small lettering may be difficult for occupants to read in time of emergency, delaying the reaction time to open the exit, increasing the risk of injury in the event of fire, crash, MVA or other impact event.

Daimler will notify registered owners and mail a new label to attach to the exit window by first class mail, free of charge. This recall is expected to begin July 3, 2020. Owners may contact DTNA Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA’s designation for this recall is FL-849.
