US FlagUS/Washington: Evans Food Group Ltd., an Arlington, Texas establishment, recalls an estimated 3,796 pounds of ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Mac’s branded Chicharrones Pork Skin products due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Soy, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Pork Skin products are subject to this recall:

  • Mac’s Chicharrones Pork Skins Hot & Spicy Variety Pack 10 Singles, sold in 10-ounce boxes each containing one (1)-ounce bags with best-by dates of 7/8/2020, 7/29/2020, 8/1/2020, 8/17/2020 or 8/19/2020 and batch/lot codes of 20106, 20107, 20113, 20118, 20122, 20125, 20128 or 20129

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 7293” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations US nationwide.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Mac’s branded Chicharrones Pork Skin products and could be allergic to their Soy ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
