UK FlagUK/London: Unilever PLC, a Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Wall’s Mini Calippo Candy products from the British marketplace due to suspected risk metal fragment contamination and consequential risk of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Confectionery products are subject to recall:

  • Wall’s Mini Calippo (Orange and Lemon-Lime flavours), sold in six (6) by 480 ml Multipacks with batch/lot codes of L0121, L0122, L0123, L0124, L0125 or L0126 and best-before end dates of April 2022 or May 2022

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, this Candy product may contain Metal fragments. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled batch/lots of Wall’s Mini Calippo Candy products identified above.

In general, if bone, glass, metal, plastic and/or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled batch/lots of Wall’s Mini Calippo Candy products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation.
